CiviCRM 4.6 opens a world of new possibilities for developers and administrators of WordPress-based systems. CiviCRM administrators will be happy to hear that they can now reliably use shortcodes in both static pages and chronological posts. CiviCRM content inserted via a shortcode can even appear in blog archives now. For developers, the big news is that for the first time, multiple plugins can receive callbacks from CiviCRM's hook system. What this means is that WordPress developers can now begin building an ecosystem of plugins to rival the ecosystem of Drupal modules.
Alumni Festival is organised every year and typically consists of 140 events such as topical lectures, tours of colleges/departments and opportunities for Alumni to return to the city and re-experience some of their time at Cambridge. The events take place over 3 days and around 1100 alumni and guests book each year.
My first exposure to CiviCRM was around 2009. I was working at Freeform Solutions, Canadian IT nonprofit organization that supports other nonprofits by providing technology support. We were looking for a CRM system that would support an HR organization that had a few thousands contact records.

I would like to make contact with fellow charities using PCP Pages to learn more about the functionality and how it is used within charities. Looking to develop an online fundraising platform for individuals, teams and organisations using PCP's with some custom development to manage fundraiasing events and in memoery/tribute pages at LLR.
Would love to hear from both end user organizations and developers on this front.

Having gone on long car journeys with young children before the ACPED (Age of Cheap Personal Electronic Devices), I am very familiar with “Are we there yet?” Now I usually only hear it in my head as I try to make light of the longer than 12-hour flights I have to endure as an Australian who likes to attend CiviCon.
